Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I have a 1999 that I bought after new engine install. How do I know if I have the updated version? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

You will have the same engine version, the 300HP 3.4l engine, not the post-2002 3.6l 320HP engine.

POST 3Original post

The 99's are 296 hp, in I believe 2001 they went to 300 hp and 320 in 2002.

POST 4Original post

Not to steal this thread but... Whats the diff between a 99 and 00? 99 Shows 296 HP while 00 shows 300? Same tq figures tho.... ??? Thanks Jeff

POST 6Original post

For some reason the research ive read states the 99s at 296... No clue why. Thanks Jeff

POST 7Original post

There was a write-up on the Porsche website, etc., that explained how it went from 296 in 99 to 300 in 2000. Something like they improved the exhaust. "The rest of the 911 model lineup gets a boost from 296 to 300 horsepower thanks to a new exhaust system. Porsche's Stability Management system is now available on the 2WD Carrera, and all 911 interiors receive minor upgrades."

POST 8Original post

The biggest interior difference was the texture on the dash and door panels and going from manual levers for the truck and hood release to electronic buttons. FDR

POST 9Original post

296HP was only for US, in the rest of the world all 3.4l engines are 300HP.
