From what I know...the emblem is riveted to the airbag unit. There are some models that came with the silver, but it is not a simple switch (you could switch airbags). Unless you want a projectile launched into your forehead. I had a silver emblem embroidered onto my custom leather FVD wheel.

Exactly right. The original crest is riveted on. You do NOT want to glue on a crest just to have silver. That airbag ever needs to deploy and I cringe as to the damage your face could see. If you want a silver crest, order a model year 2000 air bag. They came in silver
