Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a stock exhaust system on my 996 and want to set it up where the baffles that open under acceleration will always remain open. Either Tool Guy or Loren mentioned on our ride to Monterey earlier in the year that there is an electronic connection, that if disabled, would create a more serious exhaust note. I was with Torags over the weekend and his 996 Cab with the stock exhaust sounded nice. So I want to be just like him when I grow up!!!! Comments please........

Carlos from Spain, Thx for the info. I wonder is you could wire the relay to one of the blank toggle switches on the dash. Then you could manually activate the cutoff similar to the new sport exhaust option on the 96's. Has anyone tried this???

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car has the tequipment exhaust system and the baffles do open under acceleration.

Look on Lorens Renntech.org site, I believe the details are posted over there on the modification. BTW, read your sig, my car was born 7 days later.
