Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In an effort to make my pre '02 996 Cab to look less like a Boxster , to oncoming traffic, I'm considering installing a turbo look front bumper and would like to solicit opinions. I'm looking at one that is very authentic and even has a factory-type lower spoiler. My car doesn't currently have aero rockers on it, if I were to install the bumper, would it look unfinished without them? I am curious to hear your opinions on this type of upgrade/modification? Thanks for any and all replies.

yeah get the gt2 front one by nr auto it looks pretty damn tasty

POST 3Original post

There may be others, but I'm familiar with M A Shaws Turbo-look front bumper for pre 2002 996s. Here's the link. http://www.mashaw.com/html/product_info.html There may be other bumpers from other sponsors as well and it's easy to check out. Just click on "sponsors" in the upper right of the screen

POST 4Original post

I had my '02 996 Targa done up with a Turbo front bumper...what a difference...I would stick with factory bits as there is some work that needs to be done to properly install over the stock metal. They also modded teh airflow to feed the rads properly. I was able to pick my new Turbo bumper up for $450 Cdn from a dealer , it came off a new TT whose owner opted for the GT3 nose , nice trade for me! Will get the sideskirts done over the winter. Alon got the same nose put on, but paid more...... (and he installed it himself.....pure genius!) Alon knows more about the bumper mod, I am sure he'll chime in shortly.

Renoir I have a 2003 C4S and am selling my front bumper and I am in NJ, so if you want you can pick it up. Let me know if you are interested, email me at [email removed]

I'm also interested in any input regarding turbo look bumpers on a narrow body early 996. I particularly like the NrAuto GT2 bumper. Does anyone have any experience with it? After seeing Alon's car I'm thinking of doing a turbo/GT2 bumper, side skirts, and a carrera cab wing. -Dave
