Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While I was "attempting" to put on my Cargraphic pedals (having trouble drilling out the brake foot-pad) it reminded my how much I dislike that little "magazine rack" located below the driver-side dash. Looks like it is just held on by two screws, but I can't ID the head on the fastener Can't get a flashlight and my eyes to the right location. What kind (and size if possible) are these fasteners? I tried a few things without success. Thanks

POST 3Original post

Those so call screws are these plastic pop in/pop out screws. You need to yank it out. In other words, PULL..

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could yanking on these possibly cause any damage? I'm quite the he-man......or is that girly man? You know, the guy Hans & Franz were always talking about

POST 5Original post

The center of these 2 fasteners pull outwards and then the entire fastener should easily pull out.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How do you get to the center of the fastener since they are embedded? My inperpretataion was you are suppossed to pull on the "rack" itself

POST 7Original post

Thanks for the info- that was easy. I never knew it was so simple to get rid of that stupid thing.

POST 8Original post

Just yank on it a few times and it should come off in your hands.... no, not THAT! I am talking about the MANUAL SHELF!
