Hi, These guys at wilhelmy IT made me very happy with the SmartTOP about 4 months ago. I just got there newest product, the Remote Top. It lets me control my 996 Cabriolet top with the fob key-head remote. That is pretty dang cool. It has a couple of other programmable functions as well: automatic door locking at 10 MPH, automatic door unlocking when the ignition is turned off, it's a red clip alternate, enableling full alarm functions with the top down, active window buttons 15 minutes after top operation or shut-off, and some others that I can't remember right off the top of my head. This thing is gonna make life great! and I have the one-touch Smart Top unite already, so like my brother would say, I am gonna be stoked. One question though... It is a plug and play as is the smart top. My mechanic installed my smart top but I wanted to do this myself if I can... let me know what you think. I am not mechanically inclined but, hey, plug-and-play, right?

Sure hope you didn't pay much for the install on the SmartTop! That was a <10 minute job and very easy. Not sure where the RemoteTop unit goes but you should have instructions included in the product.
Porsche already has automatic door-locking as an option for post-1999 cars that's activated at 4-6mph. Any dealer/mechanic can turn that feature on for you as requested.

oh, shish-kabab. oh well, I didn't know I already had the door features. anyhoo I wasn't buying it for that function. I am not going to cancel the order. anyway, this is a programmable function that I can do myself, so it is still a little cooler.
