The dilemma I posted about shipping versus driving took care of itself. My seller reneged on me. Jerk. So now I am trying to figure the best way to find a 996. I would like to find a 03 coupe without too many options or mods and with a fair amount of warranty left. I much prefer buying from an owner so that I can know the car's history and I get a more reasonable price. I have been looking at Autotrader, eBay, and the classifieds here. Any other place I should be looking?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Kilrgt: I wish I could afford your car. Very nice. I have nothing against options or mods. Just trying to get into the newest car I can reach on my budget.
Also try your local paper, craigslist do a search for porsche and local PCA chapter website. Make sure you get a PPI performed and take your time finding the right one for you. I will even include the link http://www.pca.org/regions/index.html
DCP: I am selling my 2003 coupe (16K miles, minimal mods, warranty until November '07) to make way for the second of 3 college tuitions. I have it listed with a very reputable outfit called European Locators. You can see pics of the car in the Rennlist classifieds or at Europeanlocators.com. I am the only owner and the seller. Happy to speak with you about it if you're interested.
