I am also going to disconnect my battery for 20 minutes or so to reset the CEL.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect battery' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean mass air flow sensor' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 1 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

All they said is that the MAF was bad and they replaced it.

I wonder if i disconnect the electric plug to the MAF while the engine is running and observe a change in engine performance, idle...., if that is a way of testing if the MAF is good or bad, what do you think?

yeah I've been getting the same exact codes as of late and I've also reset the CEL a coupel of times.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Had the same thing happen to me and stopped in the dealer and they replaced mine under the CPO warranty and it fixed my code problem.
I have been experiencing a loud engine noise of late, it occurs when I apply the throttle only. I have also been getting a CEL (solid) with p1124/1126. Had it reset twice, came on a third time. I cleaned the MAF with electrical cleaner real well, but it took about 60 miles before the CEL came back. I have also noticed a drop in my RPMs from the normalish 750 down to about 500-600 (hard to really give an exact number) and when it is this low, there is a shudder and I can hear some metallic noise (like a loose fixture being rattled). All these symptoms came on at the same time. Anyone know anything, what it could be, past experiences. Any help would be advisable.
I am going to do a oil/filter/air filter/spark plug service in the next few days. I also found out my MAF is covered under my 3rd party insurance and will have that done as well. TIA everyone.
The pcodes i got were 1124 and 1126. Im not real tech savvy, so I just wanted to know if these codes point to the MAF. Did you have the exact same symptoms? Strange huh? I am also going to disconnect my battery for 20 minutes or so to reset the CEL.

P1124 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Rich Threshold
P1126 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold
Could be O2 sensor or O2 sensor heater. Can't test the MAF the way you suggest.

The ODB II manual says that these codes indicate your fuel mixture is too lean. That is, the DME can not make the mixture rich enough - i.e. rich theshold exceeded.
It lists as probable cause:
Intake air system leaking.
Fuel pressure too low.
Fuel pump volume too low.
Fouled fuel injectors.
Pay for someone to read the codes with the PST2. It very likely will tell you a what is causing the Rich Threshold codes vs. just telling you the codes.
yeah I've been getting the same exact codes as of late and I've also reset the CEL a coupel of times. If you don't mind me asking, what 3rd party warranty company do you use?
I am confused about one thing. I understand if fuel pump or pressure or injectors are bad. What I can not pin point is where an air intake leak could be at. its not before the maf obviously, it would be after right? so where can I check myself? I am going to have the bellows tube replaced as well, is that a possible cause for my symptoms and codes?
I did notice something this morning while driving. I can now hear the noise in first gear but just barely, i want to describe it as a worble type sound?!? and now instead of it being heard only when gas is applied, I can hear it when I take my foot off the gas, but not as loud. You know the best way to describe it is like a bad tread tire that makes more noise as it spins faster and less noise as it slows down. But in this case the loud noise is constant regardless of speed or rpms, but does decrease when foot is removed from gas. I know, i know, just rambling but I am doing my best to describe it.
TIA so much everyone
EVO_333, I have SelectChoice and my coverage is "Extreme" package. There is one more above mine called Extreme Wrap. BTW, my package the "Extreme" also covers seals and gaskets (RMS) thats why I chose it. I confirmed this as well when I contacted them about the MAF and the person I spoke to informed me the RMS is covered. Hope thats helpful.
Sounds like you might have an intake leak. Check that the airbox cover is tight and that the pipe fittings holding the airbox hose on to the throttle body are tight.
Well, I checked the part of the air intake up to the throttle body, all is nice and tight. Car is with my mechanic now, I went ahead and checked it into intensive care as I like to refer to it. I noticed a few more things. Noise does not occur AT ALL when in neutral, only when it is under load, and I think now I heard it in 1st gear. I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes to reset the CEL. Car runs like crap, rpms keep dropping down to 500 or so and car shakes. But all is ok when A/C is turned on. I dont know if any of this helps any one with a further diagnosis. TIA
