Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know if an new OEM nav unit from say a VW or Audi or something will fit and work in the 996? Or any aftermarket units that look very OEM? I currently have the Pioneer AVH-P8400BH that came with the car, but it's a little bit too flashy for my taste. Besides the Toyota logo, which might be changeable, could this work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA0BW0XW6929

POST 2Original post

Just browse Crutchfield, there's plenty to choose from. If (big if) the unit from another OEM could be made to work, it would probably look stranger than your Pioneer. Or you could always seek out a used PCM unit from another 996.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Toyota/Scion one I could buy as more OEM looking than my pioneer, at least in my mind I'll check out crutchfield. I'd go for a 996 PCM except it's so outdated and I dont think it even has bluetooth phone does it? And I need the Bose stereo to make it work too.
