Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The C4S sold and went to its new home on Friday evening. I miss it already. Here is the last picture of it while under my ownership. Another 911 is definitely in my future, but I'm not sure which generation just yet. On one hand, I've always loved the SCs (which are what made me fall in love with 911s as a kid). 964s are my favorite generation, but there's no denying the appeal of a 996 Turbo. We shall see!

POST 2Original post

Congrats / my condolences. I just started my RWD conversion last night, so I'll keep the tradition alive.

Nice! I actually had to put the car back to AWD for the new owner.

There's no denying the appeal of a C4S. Im sure the new owner didn't mind hearing about your "conversion" and then get it all put back in place.. A 996 Turbo will definitely be a good purchase. Heck, even 997 Turbos and GT3's will be a good deal in a few years.

POST 5Original post

Congrats on your sale. I went from 996 C4S to 997TT and am very happy but I do miss the C4S sometimes.

POST 6Original post

Congratulations on the sale. I look forward to seeing what you get next

...and, when the new owner becomes more knowledgeable in all things Porsche, he just may refer to your thread on how to convert it to RWD, and do it. The AWDs are fun to drive and seem to handle like on rails ( unless pushed really hard), but when you've driven a C2 for years, the AWD cars feel trucky and heavy with sluggish and slow to respond steering. The nimbleness and agility that make a Porsche a true joy to drive fast through the twisties is missing in the AWD. He'll either get it or he won't.

Congrats on the sale Capt. I didn't notice the decal in other pics, goes really well with the car, esp with the wheels. I'm sure letting go of the car must've been difficult. So what's the replacement toy?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! The decal was a new addition a couple weeks ago. I have a spare set, so if someone is interested in some for their car, shoot me a PM. For now, no new car. I'm going to enjoy having no car payments for a bit. Also, I'd like to do a remodel on the house, so the money that would be going towards a toy will be going towards that for a bit. Of course, I'm infamous for my "oh, shiny!" moments with cars so who knows what I might end up with and when. LOL

POST 10Original post

Glad you sold your Porsche Capt. Obvious, congrats.

POST 11Original post

Good luck Cap'n. Glad to hear you'll be back.
