Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Going to bring my car to this shop today and just want to see if anyone has some feedback on his/her experience with them.

POST 2Original post

my car got towed to this place when I crashed my first porsche, guys were very accomodating. The car ended up getting totaled so no repairs were done by the shop. would be interested to hear your feedback...

She is in for a few things: 1. A/C fix - It works but not very well. Hoping nothing major. 2. Cut a new key and program the head. 3. Drill out a couple of the roof rack mounting screws in the roof. The ones from the factory were stuck and stripped out when I tried removing them.

Here is a quick update. They did a great job and the final price for the work was very reasonable. 1. A/C - They diagnosed, flushed, and recharged it. Works great now. 2. They were only able to program my new Key Fob Head. For the blade, cutting the new blade would need to done by a locksmith. My other option would be to get a blade cut by VIN from a Porsche Dealer. 3. They tried to remove the screws but this was a royal PIA. I think I just need to order replacement plates. They people at the shop were friendly and I would bring my car back to any future work.

Just a quick update on the key blade cutting issue. I went to Rector Porsche in Burlingame and they were able to cut the key for me for around $10 bucks (took less than 10mins). The newly cut key is able to unlock the door and turn the ignition but for some reason the key head is no longer associated with the car, so the car won't start. Anyone have the procedure the get the key working so that it can start the car? I'm not referring to getting the keyless entry working btw. Note. Porsche can look up the key codes to reassociate an original key with the car and reporgram it, but it's $175. It's actually cheaper to just buy a new key head and have it programed. The issue with the original key is that it doesn't have the Key Head code (and this is what Porsche would look up). A new Key Head from Porsche would include the Key Head code.
