Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Since I already have a 996, of all the cars remaining on that list, a Nissan 350Z in great shape is attractive to me.
I sold my 08 350Z in December. 100% stock 2 owner 6 speed manual base model with 51K The 996 replaced it in the garage and I didnt want to store it outside It sold on the first day it was advertised
Always had a soft spot for those Z cars. Looking forward to the new ones
Funny thing is I had a bit of a back-and-forth with him on Reddit a few years ago on this topic. He disagreed with me that clean early C2s and C4Ses would probably start appreciating in the near future.
Doug DeMuro and Matt Farrah are in a fight to the death to see who's the most irrelevant automotive commentator on the internet.

You just came up with a topic for a new thread. Most relevant and least relevant. I'll play.
The guy reminds me of Jay Leno.

4.17 million subscribers is going to produce some kind of influence.
I think Doug DeMuros reviews are pretty good. If and its a big if, youre interested in the car hes reviewing. Very in-depth and entertaining. Plus Doug has been an advocate for the 996 since hes been on YouTube. Matt Farrah is an unlikable douche. Really theres not too many good automotive YouTube channels are there. You have to wade through the Hoonigan morons, the Hoovie new car every week types and the idiots who drift an intersection with a brain passenger hanging out the window celebrating like they just reached the top of Mt Everest.

I agree with all this. I think Harry's Garage and Car Throttle are really quite good.
DeMuro is kind of irritating, but frankly I love quirks and features and always have, so if he reviews a cool car I will watch and enjoy. Having followed several new car launches closely over the last number of years, I always find that DeMuro has the most detailed and interesting reviews out of the first batch. Farah does not bug me at all, and he does sample some extremely cool cars. What Doug and Matt share is the bizarre artistic choice to point the in-car camera at themselves.

Ill add Rennvision, PCA and Man in a Garage to the good list.
Heidi and Franny's Garage is a good palate cleanser from the "influencers".
Not sure why people don't like Matt Farrah. He's one of the few people that actually says what he thinks about cars and doesn't regurgitate the same thing that has been said over and over or just read off specs of a car that I can do myself on a manufacturers website. The guy has been in the journalism industry for many years and provides some relevant information on cars he drives beyond what you can read yourself. I'll add Savage Geese to my good list. Most technically detailed reviews of cars that come with some honest feedback plus some humor, that may be subjective at times but usually solid.
I find everything about Dougie Do-Do absolutely terrible

Its this camera work that, above all else, renders a show unwatchable.
Quotes source post: 17706905
For one, he said many terrible things about the 996.
Farrah doesn't make any bones about having been born into wealth and with connections to wealthy collectors (e.g. Ralph Lauren), so he at least gets credit for that, unlike some of these "self-made" YouTubers. I just don't like his presentation. Also, I can't trust a guy who buys $20k watches yet doesn't know how to properly wear them. Nick Murray gets points in my book for his focus on Porsche, his humor, and the fact that he keeps returning to the make despite having two new 911s with so many issues that Porsche bought them both back.
Chris Harris is the best.

Hah I don't think he said terrible things but he did say it's his least favorite model, except for the GT3RS. He's not entirely wrong and the two I remember him driving got decent praise for the time aka pre covid era. One of his recent podcast guests, Mike Musto, actually showed up in his new 996 C4S and had it detailed by his best friend who runs AMMO NYC detailing. That will be a good video. You're right there. The presentation can be meh sometimes but the stuff done with Hagerty has been decent. And couldn't agree more about watches. I cringe when I see some clown with his Rolex hanging off the side of their wrist looking like he stole it from his dad's collection. Chris Harris is a G! One of my favorites.
If you want an honest review about the cars' performance capabilities, comfort, and drivability then Chris Harris. If you want an in depth review that is totally honest and covers all the bases then Harry's Garage. If you like to see the quirks and features of a car then it is Doug Demuro but I shut it down right after that part because I cannot take the journalist reporting sensationalist voice for too long. and BTW, Matt Farrah is indeed an unlikable douche.
I’ll throw Mat Watson out there too. Likeable and does a lot of driving and DYI stuff.
Jason Camissa - hands down my favorite reviewer

How exactly do you quantify that?
Quotes source post: 17707805
Not by viewers, that's for sure
Don't know who any of these people are, the only opinion on 996 that matters in my world is my own.
Quotes source post: 17707535
He did bash it. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...interview.html He bashed the 996, saying that its the 911 you buy thats cheap to say you have a 911. He crapped on the interior, said the engines arent any good, the headlights are ugly, etc. I dont remember all the details The video is unavailable on YouTube now. I wonder why. To be fair, he has also done 180s and praised the 996. Is that hypocrisy? Did he change his mind, or does he only like GT3 996s, or 996tts? Not sure. Either way, my biggest issue with Matt Farrah is his attitude and the way he comes across.
Quotes source post: 17707306
Hes my favorite. I only wish he had his own channel.

Agree. They consistently have the best "how to" videos on the internet. They have mastered the "concise" 20-minute video. You sit there and ask: how can they have a 20 minute video on an Boxster oil change, or the 996 in-dash garage door opener hack? Then you watch the video and realize not even a second of it is wasted. All the info you need, plus all the info you didn't think about, plus all the info you didn't know you needed to know. Great stuff! https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...and+Franny+996
I think DD had a 6TT at one point, and often mentions regretting having sold it. He worked for PCNA too. Anyone who has both owned and worked for Porsche has cred IMO. All the other guys regularly dump on one 996 or the other just for clicks. I've never heard DD dump on any Porsche; much less the 996. The 6GT's are utter masterpieces that will become priceless. The 6Turbo is brilliant, and in desirable flavors will become highly collectible. All the wet-sumps are a rock solid 911 driving platform, given the knowledge to neutralize the several known inherent weaknesses of that early motor. They can all be immeasurably enjoyed forever. DD is right IMO: all of that represents true value, regardless of entry point

I agree with this. I think Saabkyle04 was the first to establish himself as a person to show all the features of a car, but Doug has done it better in my opinion.
I can see everyone’s point of view here minus anything positive about Matt Farrah.. he is a completely conceited A hole in person and now has even started asking to be paid to show at simple events like cars and coffee! Give me a break🙄
