Can anyone tell me if a stock 996 C-4S (with its Turbo suspension and brakes), sits lower than a stock 996 C-4 (assuming they are same model year)? I've read conflicting information... Can a 996 C-4 accomodate the same wheel/tire set up as a 996 C-4S (front wheel/tire set up of 8x18 with 225/40/18, and rear set up of 11x18 with 295/30/18), without compromising handling? Can you swap out the wheel/tires directly? Or would the 996 C-4 require a different offset or spacers to make the wheels/tires fit properly? Welcome any guidance on the best set up to optimize performance for regular Autobahn speeds (140 mph+) and Alpine mountain roads, while staying with 18inch wheels..... Thanks in advance...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You need to know the wheel offsets. I think a c4s has a wider rear quarters than a standard c4. Height isn't the issue. I'm not sure what either of these wheels will optimize for going 140mph on the freeway.
You can fit C4S wheels on a C4. But you need coilovers (not just springs) to lower the car to get the tire to line up, and go even lower for the tire to tuck under the fender line. If you install at stock ride height, the rear tires stick out past the fenders. If you want the top of the tire to tuck, you have to roll the fender. The c2 handles very well with the turbo/c4s wheels. Lots of grip.
Thanks...very helpful....coilovers all around? Or just the rears?
If I may hi-jack this a bit. I have a 2001 C4 and am in the market for better shocks/ struts. I see in the part break downs that there are 2 different versions of front strut. one with intigrated lower spring perch and then what I have is a bolt on / clamp around aluminum lower perch. I keep seeing Motons in the classifieds for GT3 996. can I put the aluminum spring perch on the hopped up strut with my stock or M030 springs? or in a nut shell what parts are compatible between what cars for suspension.
