I brought my car to the dealer to get the state inspection done. Of course, there are other places I can take it but going to the dealership gives me the opportunity to do some window shopping. Anyway, after walking around admiring all the new cars, it occurred to me that I was pretty happy with my 996. Sure, the new 997S's and Turbos are nice, and a Cayman S might look good in the garage, but I realized I'm perfectly happy with my car and its performance, especially given new car prices. Of course, they didn't have any GT3s on site, or my outlook might be different! Preaching to the choir here, but these are damn good cars. I might just take the long way home tonight!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Completely agree. I helped a friend buy a base 997 and, of course, I have driven a 997s (gen 1). Other than style, not enough of a difference to justify an expensive change, and I guess I am just not that stylish anyway.
+1 I was also recently at the dealer - and despite a drop dead sexy 4S they had (and the GT2) - I wasnt really too moved by anything. Or rather, not moved enough to justify the redic cash it would take to trade "up." New tires on the girl and she drove like new... never been happier with my 996!
