Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Might be nice to see photos of our 996s at RR7 or the earlier Rennsports, here is a pit video of the Alex Job 2001 996 RS at Rennsport 7. Rich You Tube

Was the #11 car one of the two involved in race start crash? Was the #70 black car the other one? Rich

POST 8Original post

I went to RR7 for three days and managed to completely miss the car corrals until closing time Sunday. Thanks for this pics!

I liked this setup with the matching Porsche mountain bike. Did you know these Porsche MTBs were introduced at the same time as the 996? Very nice 996.1 with aerokit and tasteful BBS wheels Here's ours in the parking lot on the very rainy Saturday morning. We drove from Phoenix and the round trip was almost exactly 1500 miles. I saw quite a few 996s in the parking lot so some other folks had the same idea. The car performed almost flawlessly throughout the trip. Only issues that arose were an occasionally dragging starter solenoid and engine mounts that seem to be on their way out (some excess harshness when shifting or accelerating).

My brother and I attended all 4 days. A sea of Porsches is an incredible site. A really nice 996 here: And it was cool to see this Oregon 996 here: And not a 996, but I thought I should post a pic of my brother's 991.2 GT3. It is the car on the right, in Telesto Grigio: I was able to get behind the wheel of his GT3 (manual transmission!) for one of our trips back to Monterey. Really cool to drive. So similar to our cars...yet so very different! Definately will need to do another Reunion in the future. Doug

The ONE car that I felt was missing, and was very surprised wasn't there: GT1 Strassenversion
