Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How much towards the front the center of gravity moves when you drop then engine and transmission (Tip)? I'm trying to figure out if there are any potential issues and how to prepare for that. From the lift manual: So my situation is almost like in this picture -> https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ml#post7759429

POST 2Original post

I have the 01 C2 up on Harbor Freight scissor lift with engine and trans removed, have it set to the rear as possible on the 4 jack points., very stable with no issues.

POST 3Original post

I can’t quantify the cg shift forward, but I have a very similar lift and used it with the fixed bearing at the front with no problems.

POST 4Original post

I recently removed my engine, transmission from a 2001 996 c2 with lift bars ,I marked the bars and it moved my center 14 inches foreword.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone - so it looks like there's no need to make any special arrangements. For example that 14 inch is well within the limits that lift specifies.

POST 6Original post

When I grow up, I want to have a lift in my home garage like you guys.
