Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I missed out on this umbrella recently even though it was in Australia. I have not seen another for sale so wondering what a rennlister would pay?

POST 4Original post

When they do come up they are usually in the $150-$200 range for both the leather case and umbrella. I have one I bought back in 2003 when I had a Boxster.

POST 5Original post

I was lucky my car still had it when I bought my car, doubt I ever use it but it’s nice having it. All you can do is watch eBay, they sometimes show up. I would guess $100. And up

POST 6Original post

For the most part I'd wager that people who still have them are probably the same people who never take their 911 out in the rain.

POST 7Original post

Did they all have them new or was it an option?

$22.50 if it's raining...

POST 9Original post

I'm not sure what that one's worth, but $60 + shipping will get you this... https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKUMINIUMB.html

POST 10Original post

My regular umbrella fits in the cubby hole. Whats the difference?? 🤷‍♂️

POST 11Original post

I found one on flea bay for $20 that even had the Porsche logo on the end of the handle. Probably wasn't licensed.

POST 12Original post

My recently acquired 99 c2 came with the umbrella. Never thought about it. Seller never mentioned it. Minor happy surprise I guess.

same here, my '05 C4S came with the umbrella, clearly never opened in its leather pouch. The seller never mentioned it. Just after I got the car, I was showing it off to a Porsche buddy. He opened the passenger door and freaked out "OMG, its the original umbrella" I live in Vegas and don't really drive when its raining.... so the umbrella will stay unused.

POST 14Original post

Folks, I think we've missed the mark if we're buying $200 umbrellas for our Porsches. Remember, our Porsches NEVER see rain, right? ha!

POST 15Original post

Maybe people need to add this to the list of features when selling on BAT

I'll give you $22.50 for it, and it's not even raining!

Maybe Porsche should come out with their own line of condoms with a dispenser that fits perfectly in the center ashtray. Can't have enough protection.

Sorry, I use it as air-brake when I drag race, I deploy above car via sunroof.

I try not to drive mine in the rain if I can help it. Here in SoCal that's not too hard. If I were still in HI it would be impossible!

POST 21Original post

Never in the rain....but a driving snow storm, hell ya!

POST 22Original post

I got this original 996 umbrella with that leather cover that fits the 996 cubby hole back in 2003.... Never used it, never will probably, my oldest daughter opened it for the first time some years ago. I have seen a couple on ebay for like 150 to 200 euros...

POST 23Original post

Hmmm ... the umbrella case looks to be simple enough to make. I could make one, I think. And as an extra detail, have something custom stitched onto the front face, like Porsche or Carrera or whatever. Think I'll whip out my upholstery stuff and see how close I can get to copying the case the umbrella goes in.
