Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

thanks for posting this. made my day watching it. a must watch.

POST 3Original post

Refreshing to see Pinky expound on the climate and the decision making at a very vulnerable time for Porsche. Many people focus in on the 996 headlights as being the major agitation with 911 followers, but it was really the move from air-cooled to water-cooled to be the tipping point for the purists. But life moves on and people now enjoy their fancy 991 and 992 because of the success of this guy's creation.

POST 4Original post

Thanks for posting. So many great points here; the move to computer design, air to water cooled, headlights as an internal design competition, downforce discussion with the bean counters. The raw full scale CNC model was cool to see. What a great story about integrating a design philosophy with the reality of economics.

POST 5Original post

Great interview. Thanks to That Nine Eleven Guy.

POST 6Original post

The thumbnail is one of the most 90s looking things I've ever seen.

POST 7Original post

Wow...that was truly a fantastic interview...full of insights and nuggets about the development. Thanks for sharing

POST 8Original post

Super cool, thanks for sharing. I'll never look at the front radiator duct on the C4s the same again!

It was really interesting to hear the design process of the "turbo/C4s" bumper mentioned, as I've always wondered why it looked "pushed out" like it does at the corners. Also, I've gone back and forth on which front bumper to get for my car - the aero/GT3 type or the turbo type. The way the front corners protrude (it's only at that 3/4 head on angle that you really see it) on the turbo bumper always turned me off, hence I went for the mkI aero-kit (factory/polyurethane) bumper.

Great video. One small detail that caught my attention is how Mr. Lai calls it the “nine ninety-six”. I guess it makes perfect sense when you consider we call them “nine elevens”.
