This black bar (sensor?) was on my 2002 C4S that I just bought two weeks ago. Any clue? Thanks, Pete

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Well that didn't take long Looks like I can lose it since it did not come with a radar detector. Thanks a bunch, Pete
Have you checked if you also have one (or two) in front? Might be part of a built-in/integrated system so no RD unit per se .
The control for a built in RD can be down by your right foot (LHD car). Are you sure you do not have one in the car before you start ripping things out?
what does the PO say it is?
I found one on a Jaguar XJR that I bought. The PO only had it a short time, and he had no clue. Worked great!
