Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What is this screw holding. If the crank is pinned and the cam shaft on this side is locked; I inadvertently loosened this screw. I did not totally remove it as it interferes with the vario-cam solenoid. I put sealer on the outside of the o-ring and torqued it to spec. Is there more that I should do? Thanks, Stan This is the screw #7

POST 2Original post

Maybe post a pic with an arrow pointing at the screw?

Pic? Why? He clearly said it was screw #7. It's right there between screw #6 and screw #8.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am sorry. It is the #7 screw on the M96 crankcase parts list. that parts list is on this forum. Thanks, Stan
