Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I popped off the horseshoe to install my IMS Guardian and what I thought was a dead button has wires connected to it? The switch does not depress or toggle. My car is a 2002 C4S. It has the factory sport exhaust but its always in the loud mode. Could this be just a broken button for that? Thanks, Pete

POST 2Original post

Its a dead location. A blank. Its the location where an optional functional switch would live. Not sure about your exhaust but to my knowledge factory sport exhaust is electronically controlled, you may have some other optional upgraded exhaust. In any case you can use that location for anything you like.

POST 3Original post

My PSE button is on the left side, and is always on because I removed the diode that muted the car at low/residential speeds. I went that route so I could still turn it off if need be. I can't really make out where the connection goes from the black connector to behind the radio in the center concsole. Are you saying you don't have a PSE switch?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 12544970

Correct, I do not have a PSE switch.

POST 6Original post

Could be your garage door opener or your spoiler is up indicator for when you feel like you need a fun mod! Now it's just a blank slot.

POST 7Original post

Could be location for switch that either: - controls convertible top (raises / lowers) - Pic from another REENLIST member https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...enwood-nav.jpg - rear windshield motor (guessing targa models if not mistaken) - Pic from google search http://comtech.ws/Porsche911/911Radio1.jpg But I am no expert.

POST 8Original post

I have a 99 cab and that is where the top button is located

POST 9Original post

I can't tell from your picture, but are there wires going to it?

POST 10Original post

I have a cab too, so I probably do. Maybe default factory harness includes plug with wires, but not actually connected to anything? This goes beyond my limited knowledge.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's this switch. The wires just go back into the harness behind the horseshoe?
