If you have a 1999 model year 996 that has the factory-installed aero kit (XAA code on the option sticker under the front hood), and your car was built at some point in 1998: Please open your car's engine compartment lid and tell me if "Made in France" is imprinted next to the PD and Turnwald stampings. Or is "Made in France" missing? I'm on a hunt and am in need of clues. Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Are you asking about the origin of the spoiler? I'd so, yes they should say France for the MkI AK (aka taco wing).

Yes I was trying to determine if even the earliest Aeros had that wording on them. It appears they do.
