Its been a couple of decades since I posted on these forums, went away to the Audi forums for a long time but now back and in the market for a 996. I think I found the the one but still have more leg work to do to be sure. Im not looking for the perfect garage queen and will likely use it for a daily. Short commute these days. the car is described to me as a category 3 car. Excuse my ignorance, what does category 3 mean? appreciate the help.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Just a guess, but Porsche Panorama magazine classified recently went to a number rating, 1-6, for condition of cars listed: 1-Concours 2-Excellent (would win local or regional show and drive as new) 3-Good (ready for long tour without excuses and causal passerby will not find any significant visual flaws. The vast majority of cars are 3s) 4-Fair (daily drivers with visual flaws) 5-Poor (not suitable for prolonged use as they stand) 6-Parts Car
Appreciate the quick reply. THat makes sense. And if it checks out, might just be what I’m looking for. Thank you.
