Where is the distance displayed? It seems there is a tone, but is there a display as well or no? thank you.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Nope, you need to listen to the tone
BMW has spoiled me on this feature by displaying the sensor info on the screen where it's incredibly useful. I'll take front/rear parking sensors over a backup camera any day of the week.
Or the all-round, from the top feature that is now standard on all new BMW models.
Never really understood parking sensors on a small car like a 911 until one day an owner explained he couldn't see the back due to his massive spoiler. Now if they offered them on a Mazda miata, that would be totally ludicrous...

yeah i don't really see the point, but a car I'm looking at has them, so wanted to get an idea of how they work. My mb gives both visual and noise, which is nice.
I don't see the point of the sensors on the 996, either, if only because of how hideous they look.

Yeah four butt warts. Or mini paint ball cannons
If you have a 5'1 inch lovely wife who finds it difficult to judge distance when reversing, the sensors avoid the possibility of marital discord. Not the most attractive solution, however, rear bumper is still pristine after 13 years and all remains well on the domestic front.

or herpes... Seriously, the position of them are also the worst as that is the point where cars parallel parking can and often do the most damage. I would've mounted them lower and provided a less conspicuous bezel around it.

that does look horrible, but thats only a MK1 setup. the MK2 is much better
