Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When I start the car, the red warning light for the tail fin is always illuminated. As soon as I start moving forward, it turns off. This only happens when I start the car. The fin will go up and down manually, and I'm reasonably certain that it works when hitting 75+MPH. I'm thinking this could be a sensor problem...any thoughts before I start troubleshooting?

Are the other warning lights illuminated too? Could it be this: When the ignition is switched on, the warning lights light up for a lamp check.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When the ignition is switched on, all the warning lights do come on for the lamp check...then, they all turn off except the red warning light for the tail fin. As soon as I move the car forward, the light goes out. It's a weird problem. Any thoughts? I don't have the wiring diagram so I don't know what sensors illuminate the warning light.

Not sure what year yours is -I have a 99 C2 and the owners manual says that is how it is supposed to work.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL...I love the fish fin...that must be the problem...and cds72911 and Phrog Phlyer, I guess I could read the manual...mine's a 1999 Cab...but if I read the manual, I wouldn't have received the fish pic...LOL

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could it be that the fin is too big???

POST 9Original post

Haha, didn't even notice the date. I'm less than a week into my first Porsche and trying to figure it out.
