Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 996 was rear ended and needed a new rear bumper. The insurance company (Geico) was OK for me to switch to an European one. They cost the same. The work was done by a Porsche mechanic in San Jose, CA and I'm very happy about the looks. But now, my license plate light doesn't work any more. There seems to be a fuse #8 on rail A for the fuse. But it is missing and it is supposed to be only in Canadian and European models -- not in the US models. There is not even wiring going to that fuse. For those of you who have done the conversion, how did you get the light working? The harness seems to be connected right, but there is no electricity in the wires. Any advise?
