Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, It's been awhile since I had a 996 Targa and I originally purchased a 996 GT3 style spoiler. The person who sold it to me said it was an authentic Aero Kit MKII. I'm looking to sell it now since I no longer have a Porsche, but I just wanted to make sure I price and tell people the correct information. Pictures are attached below. Note it has a sticker that says made in Slovakia. I understand some parts may be made there and Boxsters are completely built there now, but not 100% sure if this is true for Aero Kits. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

There should be a part # stamped on it somewhere. The # on the tag is damaged but looks authentic, if it starts with 996 then it is real not reproduction.

POST 3Original post

looks like a reproduction, not OEM.it would have the part number and the name of the company that manufactured it, Turnwald.and not a sticker.its molded right into the part.

POST 5Original post

Based on the appearance of the hogged-out hole the wires are hanging out of...no...unless the wires are just sitting there and I'm imagining the hole.

POST 6Original post

That thing also looks like it's got about a quarter-inch of paint on it, so it might be hard to see the factory markings...

Just as a reference, here's the location of the engraving on a 996 Mk2 OEM Aero wing.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
