Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Yes. Considering you joined in 2012, I'm guessing you never saw one of the many threads here about it? https://rennlist.com/forums/search.p...rchid=18187884
I have IMS guardian Sr. The reason I put it is my car has tiptronic trans so it does not make any sense for me to drop the engine just for IMS. After seeing what the guardian can do, I think it is worthed since it detect other problems too (chain failure, valve, bore scuffing, etc) as it monitors metal particles in the engine with powerful magnets. Installation is a little bit tedious but managed to do it in couple hours.
I have one installed. It provides me an extra piece of mind that I could possibly save the core for a rebuild by killing the motor immediately if the cabin alarm connected to the magnetic drainplug goes off. Would it ever actually work? Not sure, but it makes me sleep a little bit better at night, so it is worth the price for me.
