Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought a Porsche 996 Carrera 4 2003 and I have tried to find information about my car without any luck. There is a "GT4" text at the rear of the car. Does a Porsche 996 GT4 model really exist? Or is this just self made from combining the "GT3" text and the Carrera 4 text. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me. regards, Teemu

POST 3Original post

sorry...doesn't exist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911

POST 4Original post

Perhaps the previous owner was a Sony Playstation fan and really enjoyed the video game and in the act of appreciation, added the badge to their 911??? Mike

POST 5Original post

'Tis a figment of the previous owners imagination! Of course we all know that a GT4 certainly does exist... unfortunately for you (not that you don't have a great car either way) your car is not a "real" GT4. ** Pet peeve... I don't know why people feel the need to do this "false badgeing" thing ... I totally get de-badeging, and think it's kinda cool as it leaves people guessing - your car would be a perfect candidate

POST 6Original post

i thought the GT4 was the Cayman version of the GT3

POST 7Original post

One of a kind! Leave it on to mess with people is my thoughts.

POST 8Original post

The insignia is from a Cayman GT4. I'd just replace it with the correct part for the car.

POST 9Original post

Awww...….don't believe these guys. You've got the super rare (1 of 1) 996 GT4. It's priceless.

POST 10Original post

If the car was modded and "racey" the owner may have badged it as a subtle way to say "theres more" to this car. Kinda paying homage to more hardcore models of 911 and as a personal "limited edition". Not saying it's right or I'm a fan. Just playing devil's advocate here.

POST 11Original post

Can you share more pictures of your car? Looks interesting, it has the Carrera rear spoiler and the plug for the brake light on the top cover which makes me start thinking its a well optioned car.
