Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Anyone know a company that fixes amps? It from a 2002 996.

POST 2Original post

Probably cheaper to just find a working second hand amp.

If I were to repair it I would send it back to the Bose factory. They would be the only ones that would really be able to speak to what's wrong and would have parts available. The way it's typically handled these days is that the circuit card gets replaced. Everything is renewed and then put back in the same chassis. You would then have a "new' amp that would plug and bolt right back in with no problems. Probably pretty easy to simply replace it with another brand new amp. You'd get newer electronics and specs such as more wattage, etc.. There are lots of threads here about what amps drop in. It's not necessarily a direct drop in, but with a little arts and crafts you could get the new amp installed yourself. I've been looking at Crutchfield and the Alpine amps. I hope that this helps,
