As part of this engine removal process I need drop the Tip as well. I have a ZF Tip on my 996. Now the question is how to access that power bayonet - you are supposed to turn that counter clockwise but that thing is in such a location that I can't put my hand there deep enough. I don't think I have big hands but that cooler has quite sharp edge and the whole "hole" that you are supposed to put your hand through is so narrow. That bayonet power cord is roughly 10 inches so I was thinking would it be possible to remove that after you have started to drop the engine. Drop the engine a few inches and then access that above the cooler. Any other tips?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok, solution was quite simple. You need to remove that steel bar that would otherwise break your knuckles. It's attached to the transmission cooler with one T40 screw and then to transmission with two 10mm bolts.
