Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Anyone running the clear heat resistant windshield film and if so do you recommend it?

POST 2Original post

I got Huper Optik clear (windshield) installed last year, plus max legal tint (Huper as well) elsewhere. I'm very pleased with the heat rejection of this combo...T

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

good to know thanks. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay? I am getting quoted 395.00 just for the front windshield which seems really high...

That seems very high. I have the actual number in my Porsche maintenance binder at work, but I recall $550 about a year ago. I got the windshield in clear Huper, and all the remaining windows (including the two small side windows) except the back window tinted. And, I had mine done through the Ferrari dealership here in DFW. So, $395 seems kind of high to me…T

Ok thanks that helps a lot. I'm going to shop around a little more because it seems like another case of price gouging the Porsche guy lol

How did your two rearward side windows turn out? Did it lay properly around the black "matrix" dots around the outer edges of the windows? That always seems to be an issue.

POST 8Original post

It's not perfect to my OCD eye if I look closely, especially on the driver side, as some of the dots seem occluded by the tint, but the diff in how how the car feels in our hot Texas summers is night & day since I applied it, so I'm a happy camper...T

POST 9Original post

I got mine tinted all the way around last winter (cabrio, though) for $275 with the Suntek CXP carbon film. The front was done with the lightest shade and it's a nice trade-off for Texas summers. Big difference on those July leather seats, even in full sun.

POST 10Original post

My interior is beige and with the tinting, a front window shade/reflector and popping the sunroof, and cracking the windows, it's a lot less toasty getting into the car in summer...T
