Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Looking for advice on whether or not this Japanese spec vehicle can be imported into the USA as show and display? Currently registered as a Canadian car https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-porsche-gt3/

Mk1 GT3 not homologated in the US = must be 25 years old to import. If you bring it in on "show & display" customs can (will) come seize and destroy it.

POST 4Original post

this is a local car to me, belongs to Yonge & Steeles Ford. i have seen it, its amazing. Also detailed and paint corrected by my buddy Mina Instagram

POST 5Original post

buy it and sit on it for 4 ish years. it's certainly not going to depreciate.

POST 7Original post

I'm really curious what that ends up going for with the limited buyer pool. Not to say it's not tempting to get a BC address just to house a GT3 at...

Just to add some color to this discussion even though the car just sold. One of my good friends has been trying to figure out how to get a MK1 GT3 into the USA and here is what he found out. It cannot be imported under show and display because it doesn't quality. It can be brought across the border as a registered Canadian car, but there is no way to title or register it in the USA. There are some shippers who claim to be able to get it across the border on a transport, but once across they can't guarantee what will happen. So it is risky to try this. In summary the only way to get a MK1 GT3 into the USA is to have a Canadian owned car driven across the boarder into the USA by it's owner and left here. Then once it is here it will have to sit until 2024/5 when it will have to be taken back to Canada and then title transferred to a USA title. If that is not done it will not be able to be titled. I want one of these as well, but I am thinking in 2023 I am going to find one and then have it imported in 2024. That is about the only real way to get it here.

Seems like waiting is the only way and by then the values will only be higher!!!!!

POST 10Original post

If you buy it I will store it and keep the maintenance up on it. I promise no more than 3000 km per year.
