Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im going to have to remove my engine in my 1999, 911 cracked bell housing. I would like any info or advice as to what tests I should do on motor before I pull it out. Obviously I could address any other problems found from testing. Thanks

POST 2Original post

No advice but was this the yellow one that was for sale on marketplace recently? I was so close to snagging it.

From what I read on here check cam timing deviation as well as long term fuel trim with Durametric to see whether the chain pads on the cam timing actuators need replacing as well as judging whether the injectors need replacing. Otoh you might just replace them because the opportunity presents itself right now. Same goes for AOS (replace with the ultimate AOS by Porschetech3 is what I would do) I guess tthis thread has caught your attention already but for the sake of completeness I mention it here https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/1272700-maintenance-while-dropping-the-engine.html

Tossed a like on these for giggles. If the motor's done just pull the thing. Lots of threads and videos on this. Think I saw an M96 FS recently in the DMV area
