Hello all, I'm fairly new here. Just wanted to ask a question before I made a purchase. I own a 1999 Carrera+4 with a blown motor. I've been shopping around for a replacement engine and came across a 2013 Carrera 3.4 engine with decent mileage. My question is would there even a chance that would work? I know the 99 system was a variocam set up and the 13 has variocam plus. Besides that is there any physical difference in the block itself? Engine mounts, exhaust, accessories, would the variocam be able to run that motor without any catastrophic issues. Thank you for your knowledge and help in advance. A 2013 engine Its not an M96 engine so I doubt it would work without a lot of modification.

A 2013 won't work, no way , shape ,or form. EVERYTHING is different (except it's a 3.4 flat six)..

Anything is possible....i have seen a 986 have a new 991 GT3 engine put in it by Dundon....just takes money.

Plug and play? Absolutely not! Can you make it work? Of course someone can - the question becomes whether it�s worth it...Sounds like a super high dollar �solution� to me...
