Figured I would start a separate thread for Demuro's new site Cars and Bids. Looks like there is a chance to pick up a 40th AE that's a little rough around the edges for a possible deal in a few hours. Sold for $28,847 including fees. Probably slightly under market for condition. Fair price for the seller and buyer on this one.
That was a fun auction to watch. I don't think the bidder overpaid necessarily, but I do feel the amount of $ it will take to get this one into pristine condition, they could have spent an extra 5-6k and got one that didn't need the items like paintwork, windshield replacement, etc. Regardless congrats, I'm sure they will enjoy. My AE has been a pure joy to own.
I like that there is a competitor to BaT now, it will be interesting to see how it affects pricing as people have options now. Whether you like Doug or not he obviously carries some weight in the industry and I think that will help CaB grow quickly. Something I really like about CaB is that there are top comments so you don't have to sift through the BS and can find quick answers to potential questions you might have.
I thought this was about cars and birds
I'm eager to see how prices fare versus BaT. With BaT being bought recently, it seems there is an expectation the site will tank over time and become a shell of what it used to be. Doug seems to have timed this right.
