Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I'm looking at a 2002 TT with 62K miles. No records, owner has had it 8 months, rebuilt title from rear-end impact, presents very well in photos, and super price. Needless to say, a PPI is required. Besides the obvious of suspension components, looking for signs of repair, making sure everything functions, what special things should I be asking the shop to do? They work on P-cars, so it isn't a Barney operation, but it's good to be more informed than I currently am.

POST 2Original post

Short of a full frame checkout its a walk away to me ,, There is a reason you see so many lightly totaled ones for sale at auctions and yards. I'd want a really trusted Porsche frame and body shop to do the PPI.. and that is big $$ option cause nobody is going to stick their neck out on a rear ended 911..

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I haven't seen the car except in photos (which look great, of course) but if the rear bumper and tail lights were replaced, it suggests a pickup truck rear ended them. Maybe good news for the frame, but not so good for engine/turbo components? I'm wondering whether taking the car to a good body shop first would be a prudent move so they could look at somebody else's work and tell me their opinion? Some other things with the Seller are not adding up, so I doubt this thing will happen, but the price is around $30K, which is worth looking at anyway, right?
