Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Did my thread searches. Any chance it's not the switch? Fuses are fine. All other lights work - fog and high beams. One odd thing, high beams only work when pulling the stalk and not pushing?

Might be ignition switch. Mine did that when it started to fail. Weird, I know. Had to drive home holding the high beams on.

POST 3Original post

I think the headlight switch is a common failure item - I replaced mine at ~50k miles. Very easy to DIY

POST 4Original post

You an get some additional life out of the switch by spraying cleaner into it once removed. The high beams don't work when you push the switch because the low beams are not on.

I hate it when people drive with their high beams in your face.

Well, I'm kind of a *****.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I ordered the switch. I'm betting that's it. $115 for a new one from Ebay. I'll report back on the outcome. Thanks all.
