Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No affiliation with them, but I just picked up a center radiator kit for my 996 from ECS Tuning for less than $250 shipped. Great protection for you guys that track your cars in hot weather at a ridiculous price.

POST 2Original post

$620 is the listed price for a 2003. Where/how/huh?

POST 3Original post

Yes please post link. At $250 I would buy one just because I live in Las Vegas.

POST 4Original post

The radiators have always been $250 - but where are you finding the brackets, hoses, etc.?

This is $250 for the entire kit, not just the radiator. If you've seen the kit for that price, before, then I clearly haven't been paying attention.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like I must have gotten the last or one of the last kits at that price. Sorry about that.

Vandersmith, what type of wheels do you have and are they 19 inch. That's a great looking 996 in blue, Thanks

Great deal. I bought the same kit earlier this year, for about 600 bucks. Doesn't make much difference around town, but noticeable on the highway.

POST 9Original post

It's a damn crying shame that 997 center radiator full kits have always hovered around $250 mark while 996 full kits at one point started out around the same price but climbed to close to $600. I've been on ECS site before and have never personally seen a 996 OEM full kit for that low. Either that was a mistake on their part, you're getting a 997 kit, you're getting non OEM kit, or you're getting lucky. Please keep us updated. Not that it does anyone else any good...

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It looks like I got damn lucky. They had been at $450 for a few weeks, and I logged on last night, and saw the $245 price and pulled the trigger. Only thing I can think of is that they were trying to clear out inventory. The link on my receipt is for: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES1353844/ So, it looks like I'll have better cooling capacity for the event at COTA in September.

POST 11Original post

Yep, Jon got the last one we had in stock at a clearance price to free up some space for new inventory.

Not sure how important aero is for you on the tracks but if you want to alleviate some front end lift at speed(COTA and other high speed tracks), I recommend getting the radiator backing plate(#11) if you don't already have one and doing the cutouts in the lower part of the front bumper. The factory does this to cars with the center radiator. If you wanna go GT3RS or Cup style, you can always flip the backing plate upside down so the air is channeled up and cut some air vents at the top of your bumper.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Appreciate it. I was looking at the threads on the RS install, this morning. I'll probably end up going that route. P/N on that duct is 99657515101 for anyone else looking.
