Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Some good reading and pictures on the 911 evolution. Thought I would share. Enjoy! http://arstechnica.com/cars/2015/08/...-to-its-roots/

POST 3Original post

Much better than the last article like that was posted which was a thinly veiled hack at the 996. Interesting to see that the 991 S is as powerful as the 996 TT. It's shocking the amount of power that they can pull out of these little hunks of metal. When they are all crammed up in place I really don't get a feel for how small they are, but I've recently had cause to see a 997 and 996TT motor out of the cars and those things are freakishly small.

Well doesn't surprise me, the turbo probably not the best comparison but the 996 gt3 as a NA engine produced 380 hp as a 3.6l, they got 415 eventually out of it and the new 9A1 engine is DFI which increased the hp by at least 10% where as a 3.8l non DFI mezger was able to get 450 hp out of it. They are only up to 430 hp where as the boosted 996tt mezger was 415/450 stock and people have been pushing it to 600-1000 hp with no issues.
