Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I am putting on my dads old Schnell Silicone hose/intake that he had on his 996. Have the silicone hose on with clamps but how does the cap go over the block off hole? If you try to put it on like you would a normal "cap", it will not snap in place. It will only go in if you flip it upside down and have the flat side going into the hole. You dont need to take off the airbox do you? Please advise!

POST 2Original post

You can put anything over this hole or not have anything on it. The resonator is completely sealed from the airbox. The only reason why you wanna cover it is to not let any bugs/debris in but it really has no other affect. I've ran it for months without anything over the hole. If it's the red hard plastic one I'm thinking of, it should just drop into the hole but be sorta on the loose side which is perfectly fine. People often don't realize the resonator is sealed off and the reason why they even crank down a hose clamp to not make any air go through. Lack of understanding...
