Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Havent driven my 996.2 4s MT in over a week after having acquired a 997.2 4s PDK with stage II FSI track performer and driving it home from Chicago this past Saturday. Took the 996 for a spin this morning and the smiles were even bigger than normal. Such a night and day difference between the feel and sound of the <300hp MT 3.6 vs the nearly 450hp 4.0 PDK. Though both 4s, they feel nothing alike, which solves the problem of which to keep. BOTH The 996 will serve as my go to for quick errands, short stress relief jaunts, etc whereas the 997 will go on longer drives, and on harder drives, and eventually on tracks. As an aside i think driving with the PDK for less than 1.000 miles has taught me to be a better MT driver.

The 996 is basically the end of the line of an era of cars that was light, small and didn't have a ton of electronics and luxury items. That whole era produced some pretty fun cars, it's just not the same today for better or worse. There are a lot of great cars out there its just a different driving experience than the 996 era. I appreciate all the safety that goes into cars but I can do without the tech. I find my 2015 Audi S3 interior pretty sparse and I still hate the MMI user interface, I don't want to push 5 different buttons while I drive to change something. To put it into perspective my car, 2015 Audi S3 is about the same size as an S4 from 2000. The S4 is huge now.

The Audi MMI is a deal killer for me, one of the many reasons I bought a 2015 Lexus GS Fsport. It is our forever car along with my 2000 Porsche.

You bought bronz's 997, right? I tried to get a buddy to write a check for that car a little over 2 weeks ago. He missed out. Congrats!

Yes sir. As soon as i can get it registered i will enjoy finding out exactly how fine a machine it is. Its aftermarket exhaust i think i will come to really enjoy, thought my 996 factory sports exhaust is awesome but not overbearing. The 997s explosive power is worthy of the sounds that Bronzs setup produces. Being twice his age Im sure it will get me some looks however.

I was thinking the same thing. That was a good band. They really got overplayed on the radio and kind of burned me out on them. I do think they have a couple that I wouldn't mind on my rotation list... Age is just a state of mind. Or, so I'm told... You Tube

Ive been listening to a lot of Foreigner lately, along with Bad Company and Skynyrd. Thread title was definitely music related. Paradise by the dashboard light was contemplated. Lol

I got distracted. Congratulations! It's nice to have options. I like yours...
