Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I often browse ebay and amazon under "996" to see what pops and I came across this shifter thingy just now... being that I just made me one for my build curious if anyone has used something like this and how they might like it or not. This one looks way cooler then the one I made lol but at that price... mine is very cool https://www.amazon.com/Numeric-Racing-Adjustable-Shifter-Compatible/dp/B0843K22CZ/ref=sr_1_124?dchild=1&keywords=porsche+996&qid=1584102463&s=automotive&sr=1-124 https://www.amazon.com/Numeric-Racing-Adjustable-Shifter-Compatible/dp/B0843K22CZ/ref=sr_1_124?dchild=1&keywords=porsche+996&qid=1584102463&s=automotive&sr=1-124

popular mod. A simple search of numeric would answer your question

I've got the Numeric in mine. I haven't driven one without it. I love it. It shifts very well.

POST 5Original post

Read a lot of good comments about this kit. I just have a hard time justifying the cost for a street car only, but I've never tried one.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I don't know how I ever missed this. I would have modeled the one I built after it if I had known. I like having the shifter up higher.. i'm a short guy and the reach is more comfy for me.

POST 7Original post

The numeric shifter (and cables) have easily been one of my favorite noticeable mods. It feels like a gated shifter almost.

i would agree with the gated feel...

POST 9Original post

I have the numeric racing shifter and upgraded cables. You can often find group buy discounts in the for sale section. Very awesome upgrade, but expect more noise in cabin if you go with the upgraded cables.

POST 10Original post

It is a good upgrade. You really should get the cables with it for best results - David

How do the upgraded cables create more cabin noise?

POST 12Original post

Solid not plastic If you have a LWFW, it will be more noticeable. Numeric makes some rubber hoses to insulate the cables reducing cabin noise

Makes sense. Thanks for the info.
