Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a short shifter with ID # 997 424 983 00 that was intended for a 2007 C4S. I sold the car suddenly and am now going to sell the short shifter and a set of wheels for it. The question I have is whether that shifter will also fit all 996 6MT transmissions? Seems I should know for sure before advertising it as such, so can anybody confirm that they are compatible?

POST 2Original post

Yep, no problem. All the Porsche short shifters that folks put in to 996's are based on 997 iterations. For instance, I have a 997 GT3RS shifter in my 996. GLWS

POST 3Original post

Right. I have a 997 Function First shifter in my 996.
