Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took out the driver's side headlight assembly to do some work on the headlight washer system, and noticed that this connector was not plugged in. I don't recall any of the lights not working, so I did a little research but didn't see a clear explanation of what it controls. Is it a light connector, or something else?

POST 2Original post

It will connect automatically to the plug when reinstalling the headlight

The other connector in the pic is where it connects automagically. There was a wired plug laying there that clearly fits into that connector.

POST 4Original post

It probably dicoed when u pulled the light. Its the turn, parking and fog lights. The other plug is the headlight and litronic motors

POST 5Original post

As far as I know after installing the Litronic retrofit to my car, Its for the litronic motors so when your brights are on the litronic xenon projector lens moves up also with the brights.

I made sure to pull the headlight assembly out slowly, and was looking behind it, so I know I didn't disconnect it by just blindly pulling it out. Here's what I found in the owner's manual (should have looked there first):

Ok, I'm a little confused. I pulled out the passenger headlight, very slowly, and the same connector was unplugged and hanging down behind the plastic headlight mount base. At first I didn't think there was even a cable there, until I put my hand down in there and found it hanging down. Any thoughts as to why these would have been disconnected? I've had the vehicle for about a month, so I'm slowly finding all kinds of "Easter eggs" waiting for me
