Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

If by "amp" you mean the head unit in the dash--then yes, there's a wire attached to the metal housing that needs to be disconnected and taped off with electrical tape so that it can't touch metal. This wire provides input to the alarm system. In my car ('02 Cab) it was a brownish wire located on the top-left side of the head unit opening a couple of inches. If you are referring to a true amp, not head unit, then I can't help you there, sorry.
Look for a Brown/Blue wire from the original radio connector and remove the pin and tape it (or cut and tape the wire).
