I've got an OEM MOLL Porsche battery and want to determine how old it is. Initial look I couldn't find a mfg date. Any suggestions on where to find this date/codes? Thanks. K

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Batteries typically have to be labeled when the acid is poured in them since that is what dates a battery. Most stores, trucks that drop off batteries already filled and such as jerks not stickering or punching out the date but eh. This is one reason why I always believe in dumping a battery for a new one when it gets anywhere near its expiration. The thing can sit on a shelf for months before being purchased and that when you are supposed to punch the date tabs out. Good luck.

It's on top of the negative terminal. IIRC, as shown below, this battery is 20th week of 2006. Moll_Date.jpg -td

Thanks, still correct - at least for the CY2020 Moll K2 battery in my MY 2006 997; was wondering when the previous owner replaced it.
