Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Im looking to purchase a 996 (my first 911) and the seller provided me this photo. Could someone kindly explain to me what this all means? Thank you!

Thanks. So does "ignition 1" equal "range 1"? If so, that would mean no range 2 revs then, correct?

Yes, thats the way I understand it.

POST 5Original post

The problem with the picture you posted is that I dont see the time factor. Did the overrevs happen recently or when the car was new? The older the last reported overrev, the better. Cars with overrevs a long time ago are less likely to have major engine issue than an engine that was freshly overrevd. The Range 2 number you posted is pretty small, so thats not a big concern.
