Driving home yesterday after a spirited drive for over an hour, suddenly got the windshield sprayed with a lot of coolant! Low coolant light came on and was able to park before any heating occurred, then noticed a huge pool of coolant on drivers side front (below the radiator.) Car is on the way to mechanic, towed. I am wondering about the possible causes of windshield spray, maybe the coolant hose that goes to the heat exchanger? if anyone else has experienced this would love your thoughts.

There's quite a few hoses in that area, but all due to the radiators.
Was it outside or inside the windshield?

it was outside the windshield, like someone threw a bucket of water at the windshield.
I had the vent line pop off while in the track. That little 1/4" line under pressure spayed fluid everywhere including the windshield. Caused me to spin too. Im betting u ruptured a hose or just slipped a clamp.

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully you didnt get hurt or much damage. Definitely sounds like it!
Luckily the spill was at the exit of a slow left corner. I kept it in the track. I did scare the crap out of the women in the ferrari behind me when she spun too. It did cost me $200 in oil dry.
Sounds like one of the hoses that go to the heater core ruptured.

Tex, thanks for your thoughts. Will report back when we have diagnosed. It was interesting that after the windshield event coolant started pouring near the front driver radiator
