Regarding the passenger side airbag I have searched a fair amount regarding children in the passenger side. I understand about the airbag deactivation bar and all that stuff. My question is this, is the airbag weight activated or is the airbag always on? My son sits in a forward facing seat, and there is no buckle on it to be inserted into the airbag bar if I were to install it. The whole contraption looks pretty simple and its likely just a normally open switch that is closed when the buckle is present. So if the seat is NOT weight activated could one not just jump the two wires under the seat and then have it disabled with the Porsche tool or Durametric? Or at the very least put a switch on the wires to have it on / off depending on who is riding in the car?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You can buy the buckle online (http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_baby_child_seats.html#a198 has one). Yes, you can jump the wire but you need porsche scan tool to activate the child airbag deactivation feature. I tried durametric (pro version 3 years ago) and it did not have feature to deactivate airbag. Dealer activated mine. I don't know if dealer will activate it without porsche child bar since its safety related stuff. Let me know if you can't get the buckle. I have 2 of them and willing to help you of you can't get one.
